How to Make a Free Logo in 5 Minutes for Your Business With No Design Skills?

If you are looking to create a free logo design online for your blog or website, you can easily do this and the great news is that you do NOT need any design skills.

I will show you in this post how to very quickly and easily create a stunning logo that you can download for yourself.

Option 1: Canva Logo Templates (Free Version)

Let me start by explaining some things that I am sure you will be very happy to hear me say 🙂

• You do NOT need any design skills to make a logo for your online business or blog.
• You can create a classy logo for FREE.
• The logo design can be done in 5 minutes and you can download it to your computer as soon as it’s designed.

What are we waiting for? Let’s get started.

1. Choose a Free Logo Design Template

The free online software you need to use is Canva and this is a FREE service (they do also have a paid service but you do not need it for creating your logo).

Start by first of all going to Canva Logo templates.

Next. you need to signup for the free version of Canva by selecting ‘Sign up to download’ as you see in the image below. If you already use Canva, you can miss this step.

You can select to sign up using your Google login or Facebook log-in if you want to save time and get signed up for Canva really quickly.

Next, you should click the three lines you see (see the image below) and then you see a box pop up.

In that pop-up box, then click the checkbox to select to use only ‘Free’ images and logo templates.

Then click ‘Apply Filters’ to save the option you just selected.

Next, you will want to choose a free template from the dozens that show on the left of your screen in Canva.

To do this either:

• Enter a word or term that relates to your business (such as ‘school’ or ‘hair salon’) and then click enter on your keyboard and then view the templates that come up.
• Or, just scroll down the various templates that already show on screen (see image below)

When you see a logo template you like, you can do one of two things to get the logo to go into the main design area. You can either:

• Drag the logo you like the look of into the center of the screen where you presently see the white box (the design area).
• Or very simply click the logo you like and hey presto, it will populate itself into the design area in the middle of your screen.

So you will now see something like this:

2. Customize and Add Your Own Company or Brand Name

Now you have chosen a template that you like, you will need to customize it with your own brand name or business name and to change the logo (if you wish to), and to change the colors if you also wish to.

In the image example above, you can see that it says ‘Gazar Games’ and with the words ‘Game developers’ underneath the company name. Let’s imagine that I want to change it to this site’s name and that is ‘Promarketing Online’.

It’s really quite simple to change as all you need to do is click your computer mouse over the text and then edit the text to what you want it to be. That’s it.

As you can see in the image above, on the top, above the local design area, you will see the font type, size, and color and you can change any of these on your text.

Just highlight the text with your mouse and then choose a new color or font style.

3. Change Logo Design Colours and Style

Likewise, it is not only the text color, font, and font type you can edit and change!

You can also edit the logo icon itself. You might want to change the colors on the image? No problem you can do that easy peasy too 🙂

Or you might want to change the graphic altogether! Once again, easy peasy!

So in the example above I have a globe-type icon above the ‘ProMarketing’ text. So what if I now decide that I would prefer a ‘fish’ because, for some reason, that is the icon I use for my business.

Now you will need to look on the far left menu and click ‘Elements’.

Now one key thing to remember, if you want to create your logo, is that it is TOTALLY FREE!

After you click ‘Elements’ you must click the three lines again and then click the checkbox ‘Free’ (see image below)

Okay. Next, you can either enter a search term into the box above like I have for the word ‘fish’ and press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard, or you can just scroll down and look at all the free icons.

To change the logo icon (image) click on the existing one and press delete on your keyboard to remove the existing logo icon.

Then click on the new icon you want, in my case a fish, and it will pop onto your design and, as you see below, a picture of a fish has replaced the globe.

You might then decide to change the background colour of the logo for some reason.

I have decided, for example, to change it to a blue background, as you can see below.

4. Downloading Your Free Logo Design

Once you have played around and designed your logo by changing the colours, icons and text, the next key task you will need to do is to download your logo.

What you need to do is click ‘Download’ on the top right and then you will see a drop-down list. From this list select also ‘Download’.

You will be given the option of downloading your logo in various files types.

I suggest choosing to download it either as a PNG file or as a JPG file.

The file will download to your local computer when you have selected the file type and clicked the final ‘Download’ button.

Tip: If you are new to all of this and can’t work out where the file is saved on your computer, then the chances are that it will by default have saved to your ‘Download’ folder on your computer.

5. Uploading the Logo To Your Blog or Website

The next task is to upload the logo to your blog or website.

Now how you load your logo really depends on what Content Management System (CMS) you are using or if you hard code your site and then what theme you are using. On this site, for example, we use WordPress as the CMS and the theme we use is Divi.

On Divi, it is really easy as you go to: Divi –> Theme Options –> Logo

Option 2: Using Canva or Your Own Graphics Package and Text

If you already have a graphics package such as Photoshop you can use it, or if you don’t you can do this in Canva just as easily. What you can do, if you really want a simple logo, is what we have done here on Promarketing and just create a logo that, in essence, is purely textual.

If you are using Canva, it is the same design area as before.

You can choose just add text to the design area and then play around with the font type, colors, and font size.

Whether you would like a logo with a nice icon and text or just plain text as we have, whatever type of logo you want to be designed, you can do it yourself in less than 5 minutes and you really do not need to pay a penny for the design.

Using the Logo on Stationery and Business Cards

If you are using Canva as shown in this post, you can also save your logo to use on business cards, stationery, and for other uses.

Just make sure that you save the image large enough so that it will show in good enough detail for whatever you need it for. You might be best off, for example, making the logo larger than you need.
